What is Grain ATM :

"Grain ATM is automatic machine provides Grain to Beneficiaries."

India's first ‘Grain ATM’ has been set up in Gurugram, Haryana.

It is set up as pilot project.

This Grain ATM has been installed under the ‘World Food Programme’ of the United Nations (UN), and is called the ‘Automated, Multi Commodity, Grain Dispensing Machine’.

It will give Transparency in Public Food Distribution.

Facility :

• It is automatic machine, which works like a bank ATM. Bank ATM gives Cash and Grain ATM gives Foodgrain.
• Onetime 70 kg Grain in only 5-7 minutes.

How it works :

• This machine is equipped with the biometric system with a touch screen.
• Beneficiary will have to enter the Aadhaar or Ration card unique number.
• After biometric authentication, the foodgrain prescribed by the government to the beneficiaries will be automatically filled in the bags installed under the machine.
• It Distribute Three types of grains : Wheat, Rice and Pearl Millet
